Rory Gent picked up the copy of the Daily Telegraph and turned excitedly to the announcement pages.
His engagement to Elizabeth Headly was there. He could not help but feel excitement at seeing his name and the date of the family party that would celebrate the engagement.
Elizabeth’s family lived in the beautiful Cotswold village of Limington—two great pubs, a village hall, and a close community that was all coming together in three weeks in the village hall for a party. He felt pretty good about life, the universe, and everything. He had met Elizabeth eight years ago just after he had returned from Israel. Her brother had been in the same hospital as Rory during his recovery from the wadi incident. Elizabeth’s brother had had a minor rugby accident, and they had been in the same ward. Elizabeth came to visit her brother, they had made friends, and it grew from there. Both families were pleased at the prospect and wished it had happened a few years earlier.
He had some organising for the party to do, which was a bit of a pain, but all in all lots of life to look forward to.
