zombie fell, he saw the storeroom door a few feet beyond. Adrenaline pumping, he dashed through the swinging doors and on to the stairs. Closing the stairwell door behind him, he raced up the stairs and onto the roof. Closing the rooftop door, he turned off the flashlight and shoved it in his pocket. Reaching down, he grabbed his sheath and slid the sword back into it as he headed for the ladders.

  A few minutes later, he slowly rounded the corner and headed for his motorcycle. By now, the zombies in this area had lost interest and had wandered away, leaving the area around his bike clear. Transferring the contents of his backpack into the luggage, he quickly donned his riding gear and headed for home.

  As he listened to the rumble of the bike, he thought about the store and what happened inside. His first field test of the ZOMBIE OFF was, for the most part, a complete success. Sure, there were a few glitches, but that was to be expected. As the bike sped down the highway, Connor couldn’t help but smile.

  “Yep, this changes everything,” he said to himself.
