“Oh, I can’t believe that I am going to eat some proper dinner with my super-duper friends around me” said Luke excitedly. He was a food lover and will always be a food lover.
We all ate and enjoyed the dinner. Although we were tired, we wanted to inform the governor about the diamond. We asked Jolly if there was any way to connect to the governor.
“Yes, we can use a hologram messenger for that” Jolly said, “Let me ask Laura to bring it for us from the postal office nearby.”
After a while Laura brought us the hologram messenger and Jolly entered the governor’s name “Franklin Wood”. A person appeared on the hologram messenger’s surface. He was the governor and he said, “Laura dear! Could you please give us a moment of privacy?”
“Of course sir” Laura left the room.
We told the governor about the diamond and showed it to him. He was really satisfied and happy to see it. He praised us on our victory and he said, “I want you to hide the diamond in this rest house and tell no one, not even Laura, because she is the true fiancée of the demon and she could be betraying us. May be I am wrong, but we have to be very, very careful about it. Tomorrow I will travel back towards the mystic world and you can hand over me the diamond.
The governor disappeared from the screen and we ended the call. We decided a very safe place to hide the diamond. As we all wanted to sleep to no one was selected for the night guard. Besides we felt really safe in rest house.
I was sleeping when I felt some strange noise. I woke up and I looked around the room. Luke and Jolly were sleeping but Maureen was not in her bed. I jumped out of my bed and woke up Luke. Both of us went to the dining area, kitchen, bathroom and the garden, but Maureen was nowhere. There was only one place left now, Laura’s room. I opened the door quietly and I saw something my eyes could not believe. There was a greyish-blue thunder storm cloud like creature with yellow eyes and long teeth. This creature horrified both of us. Maureen was in its hands. She was trying to escape but creature was too strong. Luke tried to move towards it, but the creature spoke, “Don’t move! And handover the diamond to me.”
I was going to make a run to get the diamond but Maureen shouted, “Stop Abigale! The life of humanity and mystic world is more important than a single person’s life. This creature is only strong from outside, it cannot kill me. I know that it will not kill me until it gets the diamond.”
There was a huge lightening inside the room appeared from the window and the greyish-blue thingy disappeared, along with Maureen. My heart just pounded to see that Maureen was nowhere. Luke was really shocked and worried. We both shouted and called Jolly. He came running anxiously and we told him everything about what had happened. Jolly went pale and didn’t speak a word.
It was the quietest and the darkest night of our lives.
