UNCENSORED QUOTES OF THE WEEK
[Head writers] Gary Tomlin and Chris Whitesell are doing the unexpected with characters that I have a feeling will prove quite interesting to the viewers. They’re really ramping up to Thanksgiving and then Thanksgiving into the new year. They’re writing a much more concise show. We’re looking at shows airing in mid-March and we know where it’s going to be in six months and it looks really good.”
—DAYS exec Ken Corday in DIGEST previewing November sweeps
Translation 1: We’ve got nothing worth watching for you guys next month.
Translation 2: We’ll have new showrunners by Thanksgiving! And another new group in March!
“I felt wanted for the first time in a very long time.”
—Jess Walton enthuses about her Y&R return in this week’s SOAP OPERA DIGEST
Translation: And then Y&R called after Nelson Branco visited me in Oregon.
“We’re trying to make it realistic.”
—Bryan Dattilo in DIGEST regarding Lucas’s seismic shift regarding Will’s homosexuality
Translation 1: Except for the whole gay part.
Translation 2: Because every gay bottom has grief sex with a pathetic, desperate woman.
“My breasts have just turned into monsters!”
—GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn in an interview with TV GUIDE
Translation: These babies could stop Sandy’s destructive path!
“Are you kidding? You know me better than that! [Laughs] Oh, my God, if I'd paid for these I'd be furious! Anyway, what would be the point of a boob job at this late point in my career?”
—Grahn on whether or not she paid for her ample bosom
Translation: I’m a soap actress! I can’t even afford a designer bra!
“I’m probably more like Kristen than Ashley — except for the evil part.”
—DAYS’s Eileen Davidson in DIGEST on which character she is most like
Translation: Unlike Ashley, I have a sense of humour. And Kristen is employed!
“They’re all alive and well in the recesses of my brain. They’re clawing, trying to get out. I would love to play them again, but I don’t know if it would be the right thing because the show is so different.”
—Davidson on playing Kristen’s doppelgängers in the same interview
Translation: Plus, DAYS isn’t paying for an actor to play multiple roles anymore!
“Acting is a physical sport.”
—Y&R’s Christian Le Blanc in a feature interview with DIGEST
Translation: Especially when you work opposite Eric Braeden!
“I could easily become that shut-away who does genealogy all the time and researches people’s family trees for a living. I’ve researched mine and have done that for Jess Walton and others on the show.”
—Le Blanc on his Plan B
Translation: This just in: Jill is no Fenmore!
“I’m probably too much of a broken record with ‘dude,’ ‘awesome,’ ‘bro,’ and ‘beer.’ I also talk too much about sports and my kids.”
—Y&R’s Joshua Morrow on his most annoying habit in DIGEST
Translation: It’s amazing how much a binder full of cock will let you get away with!
“I have something that’s patent pending right now.”
—Former ONE LIFE star Melissa Archer in DIGEST about her future prospects
Translation: It’s called The Post Hair Model Kit.
“[GH head writer] Ron Carlivati tweeted me one day to tell me that my red hair saved Port Charles.”
—Archer on Natalie’s popularity
Translation: I’m the best hair model ever!

KATHERINE THE GREAT: THE SHORT AND LONG GOODBYE
In part two of our interview, Katherine Kelly Lang talks about bracing herself for reel life without Ronn Moss and Susan Flannery! Plus: Who should be Brooke’s new love interest?
For the past 25 years, award-winning soap opera THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL has captured the imagination of more than 35 million people in more than 100 countries. To celebrate this historic milestone, the CBS/CTV soap opera is traveling back in time by releasing an anniversary photo book, BECOMING BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL (Source Books; November 2012) chronicling its sudsiest moments with a series of 200 photographs of the cast and crew by some of Hollywood's best photographers. And who better to speak to than the show’s most beautiful and boldest star?
Has it been emotionally draining filming your final scenes with Susan Flannery, which will ultimately lead to Stephanie’s death?
I felt like I cried for both of them when I [wept] on Ronn’s last day. At that point, I knew both Susan and Ronn were leaving the show. With Ronn, it happened so fast. In fact, it was shocking. With Susan leaving, there has been time to digest what’s going on. It’s more of an everyday sadness with Susan as opposed to the one day I fell apart with Ronn’s actual last day of shooting. I don’t know… it’s a lot to deal with. It’s going to be an adjustment not acting with Susan as Stephanie and Ronn as Ridge anymore.
I’m sure your final scenes with Stephanie will be Emmy-worthy material.
I’m nervous about them. We’ve already taped some. We’re working towards the end of the storyline but we still have to tape the rest. It’s draining. It’s just draining… and h
ard.
Awww… I hope next year is just fun for you because you’ve had to endure so much loss in 2012. The good news is that this new chapter in B&B’s history will hopefully give Brooke a rare opportunity to reinvent herself. I’m excited. Are you excited? Is that the silver lining in all of this?
I do feel like I’m going to miss the rivalry that Brooke and Stephanie had. I don’t think there is going to be anything like it [again], so I am going to miss our chemistry. The fact that these women also became friends in the end [made it such a unique and powerful relationship]… yes, it will open up new roads for Brooke to travel down on and, hopefully, new storylines she hasn’t been involved in before. Like you said, it’s a perfect opportunity to reinvent the character. She’s going
