Montford was incensed. He had proposed that only a few scouts be sent out first, because he was sure he could get at least two of his men on that team. They’d be able to report back to him letting him know if the ships still had usable salvage. Of course, no one knew his real reasons.

He’d just said it would be safer this way and they’d be able to send scouts out right away rather than having to wait to get up a full expedition. And they were sending out just a few people first. Only, the Elvwist council member had been left to choose the members and there was no way he’d be able to get his men on that team.

He stood outside the park watching the people leave, brooding. He hated Elvwists. He decided to fly to his private mountain chateau. He would get the precog to do a reading for him. She wouldn’t want to of course, but he knew he could “persuade” her.

As he thought about her, he began to feel aroused. Between his work for the pest company and having to check on an issue with one of his other interests, not to mention getting to this meeting, he hadn’t had an opportunity to acquire another “sleep buddy” - as the young people were calling them these days - let alone adding to his “collections” or getting back to his chateau.

The precog was the only one he’d ever kept from his “special” collection and she had been quite useful to him from time to time. She didn’t look nearly as good since she’d had those two brats but she was always available and, too, the brats gave him more leverage when it came to getting her to do a reading for him.

Tonight, his mission was two-fold: he needed relief and he needed information. As he got into his hover-car to go to his aircraft, he looked forward to getting both.
