While Caroline danced with her father, Cade excused himself to go outside. He peered in the darkness, searching for April and her mystery man. Satisfied with his brief moment of privacy, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through the numbers he had saved in a special folder. He stared at the name from his past. Taking a deep breath, he pressed call. Cade spoke quietly and in short words to make it difficult for anyone listening to understand him.
"Yeah. It's Beau. I need you. When can you be here? Outstanding. See you soon."
He took a deep breath as he hung up the phone, placing it back into his pocket. He closed his eyes, realizing what he was about to do. Dredging up people from his past would surely dredge up buried memories, as well. It was worth it, though. She was worth it.
