I was good with numbers, always had been even though I now needed glasses to see those equations. Work was going good though. I’d been going through a money lending section for the last two days making sure something hinky wasn’t going on. My apartment now had a holographic television in it, a single chair facing the window, and a bed with no sheets. I spent most of my time on the roof though, staring out at Earth. It was my lunch break at the moment and I was on my office building's roof. I just couldn’t get enough of seeing it. The planet was beautiful from here. I could see the blue waters and the green land. Clouds swirling into storms. We didn’t have clouds up here, but we did have lots of dust. I was standing at the edge of the flat roof staring up and just relaxing. For the first time since Sean went all bat shit crazy on me, I took a moment to just breathe.
“Quinn.”
I turned to see Lyon, Mr. Harrison, standing at the open door with his arms crossed. “Don’t worry, I’m not jumping,” I joked.
He didn’t smile.
I stepped away from the edge and walked toward him. “Did you need me for something, sir?”
“No. I’m just surprised to see anyone else up here.” Lyon’s unique eyes glanced up. “When the sun's up for those two weeks it’s hard to see Earth.” He glanced at me. “Do you like living on the moon?”
“I expected more aliens and mutations.” More sarcasm. I really needed to tone it down.
Lyon chuckled, it was deep and almost warming. “So did I.”
“How long have you been here?”
“Seventeen years now. When I was trying to start this bank there weren’t as many people.” He pointed left. “See that row of buildings. That hadn’t even gone up yet. I would just stand here and stare out at the moon, amazed that I finally made it here.”
I actually couldn’t see those buildings. Thank you, genetics. “Why did you come up here? Hot alien chicks?” I grinned.
“Hot alien men.” He winked at me.
Holy fuck, he was gay. There was someone up there and I was loved! Then again, was I ready to let someone into my life? The last one hadn’t turned out well and what if Sean found me? They’d be in danger too. What the hell was I thinking? Just because Lyon was gay didn’t mean he was interested or available. My cock needed to calm the fuck down.
“I actually wanted to be the first man to walk on the moon.”
That made me smile. “A few years too late.”
Lyon snorted. “Yeah, but I started obsessing about the moon and saved all my money for a ticket here.”
“Do you regret coming here?”
“Not a moment. It’s been an adventure. A learning curve.” Lyon looked at me. He opened his lips as if he was going to say something but stopped.
I was staring at his mouth. He was like a giant before me, so tall with his muscles bulging under his suit. I wanted to kiss my boss. Hell, I wanted to bend over and let him spank me raw.
Lyon glanced away quickly. “I have to get back in there.”
“Me too, sir.” Suddenly this sir thing was sounded less professional and more submissive. My dick rose between my legs filling out my new pants. The elevator doors closed us in and the awkward silence was filled with sexual tension. I felt it. Did he? I couldn’t see his crotch because of his suit jacket.
“Why are you here, Quinn?” he asked, genuine curiosity in his tone.
Ah, what to tell, what to tell. “I needed a change of scenery...and I was hoping to meet a hot mutant with big...” balls... I stopped just in time. Way to keep it professional. The doors opened. “See you later, Mr. Harrison.”
He gave me a smile. It looked good on him. His eyes seemed brighter and his longer hair against that charm made him seem younger. I wanted to jump my boss on the damn elevator. I rushed away and walked down a well-lit hall to my office. What the hell was wrong with me? Who lusts after their boss while trying to hide out from a stalker? Apparently I do.
