Then that one, fleeting glimpse, into the spiritual world, vanishes. Settling back in your seat, you reach for some popcorn unaware of the fierce, unseen battle being waged between good and evil.
Your journey through the enemy's territory soon ends. In the end, you never see it coming; your King returns. All the scars that you carried about in your flesh from Satan's campfires disappear, for the Lord has given you a robe of righteousness made white by the blood of the Lamb. The toils of this world fade as you enjoy the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Then on the day of the Great White Throne Judgment, the Lord summons you. You wonder why the Lord is summoning you, and then you see your friend. You smile as you murmur, “Well… maybe he is going to reward me for the many times I took him to church.”
As your friend's life is played back, you are horrified as you hear yourself say, “Let's go see the movie; everyone is talking about it.”
As you continue to watch, you realize that Satan planted a seed of doubt that day in your friend's heart that led him to hell. Then the Lord looks straight at you and says, “Give an account as to why you aided Satan in his scheme to send your friend to hell.”
The moral of the story is this: if anyone comes to you and says I belong to this cult, or I believe in evolution or any of the other campfires that the Devil has lit, and if you cannot tell them the truth because you are afraid of offending them, then say nothing at all. ‘For I will forewarn you, every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment.’
We have all warmed ourselves by Satan's campfires, but as we approach the soon coming of the Lord, we must make a commitment to put on the whole armor of God and fight the good fight of faith. For those that have never made a decision, then this is your opportunity to receive His invitation. Are you willing to accept the mercy of God? Without it, His wrath is upon you. And if you die in that wrath, you will suffer separation from Him for all eternity. All you have to do to be saved is go into court with God, and plead guilty. Acknowledge your sins, and ask Him for forgiveness. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is the Gospel in a nut shell.
The Gospel or good news is that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins, by His shed blood on the cross. Our part is to come to Him by faith. Jesus says, come unto me. He doesn't want you to clean yourself up, or become religious, just come to Him and ask Him to save you, and to come into your life. Then He will begin the process of cleaning your life, from the inside out. Coming to Christ is like when a man asks a woman to marry him, he gives the invitation, but she must respond. Christ has given you the invitation to become his bride, and to attend his wedding ceremony, but you must decide what to do with His invitation. Our part is to come. The Bible puts it this way, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
The Fruit of Our Words
Memorizing God’s Word and then speaking the Word of God has creative power. For the Bible says: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 When we speak God’s Word, we are standing in agreement with God. We are sowing good seed.
In the future, we will eat the fruit of our words. That means our words are going to produce exactly what we're saying. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:37
Today, make sure you are sowing good seed with your words. Speak God's Word which is the truth that will set you free. Let His Word fill your heart and mind and direct your mouth with what to say. We should all take a moment to examine the fruit of our lips. Why not add to your harvest today.
FRUIT FOR TODAY!
Father God, thank You for Your Word which is truth that sets me free. You said that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Jesus, I ask you to forgive me of my sins and to come into my heart. Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to die for me, and I ask you now to fill me with your Spirit. Help me to guard my words and sow good seed into my future. I choose to hide Your Word in my heart. Keep me close to You and direct my steps. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Spiritual growth results from trusting Jesus Christ. ‘The just shall live by faith.’ But in order for your faith to grow you will need to practice the following:
Go daily to God in prayer.
Read God's Word daily.
Trust God for every detail of your life.
God's Word also instructs us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. Several logs will burn brightly together; but if left alone when the flame dies, how shall it be rekindled?
Look for commitments you can make unto the Lord and keep them — going to church, reading your Bible, praying for the lost. Memorizing scripture is an often overlook commitment we should all make.
