"You thought every flower in that shop was girly!" She exclaimed with a roll of her eyes.
"I'm a guy, flowers are all around girly." He commented as they made a left turn.
She laughed softly and stopped walking. They were here. In front of Hollabrock Cemetry, where Levi had been buried a year ago. It was September fifth, the anniversary of his death.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Chase asked, taking her hand in his and stroking a few fingers with his thumb.
"Yeah, this is good." She said and boldly started down the drive. It was beautiful out, the sun shining and the white, puffy clouds filling the light blue sky. A light breeze flushed past them as they turned down the aisle in which Levi was buried.
"Can, um you wait here?" She asked Chase, her boyfriend.
"Of course." He said with a knowing nod and watched her figure trail off until Scarlett stopped in front of a small tombstone.
"Hey, Levi. It's been a while." She said placing the flowers. She knelt down and felt a tear sting her amber eyes.
"I'm doing good, I'm happy and Chase... he's good for me. You'd love him! He's rough on the outside, but all chewy on the inside." She said with a small laugh, a tear making it's way down her cheek. She wiped it away and tilted her head towards the sky and then back at the stone.
"I love him. I love Chase, so much." She whispered. "But I need you to remember that, I might move on, find another soulmate, but you, Levi, I will love you forever and always." She said and brushed away a few escaped tears as she stood up. Scarlett reached Chase and took hold of his hand. "Let's go to your house." She said with a small smile, her amber eyes lit with happiness and as they walked away she swore she heard the wind whisper forever and always
