Read Girl on the Sidelines Page 2
Do You Think About Me?
I was five when I first saw her smile
A girl with eyes as bright as stars
And I still remember how the wind blows her hair
The sound of her voice that echoed through the day.
I met her on the first day of school
She reached out my hand and assured me with a smile
Promising me I found a friend in her
That I could confide.
Drenched in raindrops and dirty with mud
We laughed together and sometimes cried
She read me stories and taught me how to fly
With garland flowers as my feathered wings.
Do you think about me
The way I think about you?
Do you remember your childhood friend
Like I remember you?
Our picture together was torn apart
When I moved a hundred miles
I can only look up at the sky
And hope you're looking at the same star.
I sit on my chair and hear your happy little voice
And when I see those white flowers
I smell them and remember
The day you wore them around your neck.
Clad in your white dress
Like a little angel dancing with the wind
I see you smiling in my memory
And remember how you do everything so lovely.
Do you think about me
The way I think about you?
Do you remember your childhood friend
Like I remember you?
We didn't even had a chance to say goodbye
Or fold a flower between the pages of our story
I catch the raindrop in my hand
And hope you're doing the same the way we used to.
And sometimes I wonder what could've been
Would we still be dancing under the rain?
And when I look on our old photographs
They faded away but alive in my memory.
Do you think about me
The way I think about you?
Do you remember your childhood friend
Like I remember you?
Are you still waiting at the stone benches?
Will I find you smiling the way I last saw you?
I'm coming now don't you worry
I haven't forgotten you and I'm coming back.
I just hope you're at the other side
Clasping our old photographs
Remembering all the fun we had
Like we were princesses of the world
Do you think about me the way I think about you?
Do you remember your childhood friend like I do?
You were the sister I never had
And I still hope one day I'll find you.
