Read Halloween Special Page 2

He laughed. “You sound like my friend.”

  KIROS!

He stood straight. Pain lanced his temples making him bite into his bottom lip, drawing blood.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD YOU BITCH!

  MAKE ME, LOVER

“Get out of my mind!” He slammed his head against the wall, cracking the plaster.

“Hey! What’s wrong with you?” Tomb raider moved around to his back and put her hand to his cheek. “Are you okay, mister? You don’t look too good.”

“Go. GET OUT!” Kiros ordered. If she didn’t make tracks, Kirara would kill her.

“Yes, little human. Run before I feast on your blood.” Kirara’s smile faded as Kiros ran head first into her and wrapped his whip around her neck.

“Try getting out of this,” he fired back and threw them outside.

Kiros landed on his knees on top of Kirara. With no one to catch, his jump took them unguided out of the casino. Glancing around, Kiros picked out Siaak’s fighting figure and opened his mouth to call out.

“If you kill me, the scenting keeps you bound to me even in death.” She purred in victory.

  He sneered. “You’re already dead!”

The sound of smashing glass caught everyone’s attention. Looking up, a man plummeted in a suicide dive. The sound of his cloak flapping in the wind ended seconds before he landed gracefully on bended knee. The hooded man looked up and smiled before taking a fighting stance with two swords. Lunging to the right, sword twirling, he made quick work of three BloodSlaves.

“Myaten! You’re showing off again! What is it with you?” Kiros stormed up to his friend and pulled on the white cloak. “Ezio, you’re playing that dude out of Assassin’s Creed! And you picked on me for dressing up as, Zorro?”

“Hey, your vampire friend is getting away!” Tomb raider pointed over their heads as she stumbled out the shattered window behind them.

“Where are you going?” Kiros asked after shooing Myaten in the direction Kirara took.

“I thought I’d go to a party, maybe take in a movie. I’m going to the hospital, what do you think I’m doing? Not sure how I’ll explain this one.” She took a step and stopped. “I’m glad you didn’t get hurt, even if you’re a vampire.”

Kiros watched a black RV skid to a halt in front of her. A man dressed in black jumped out and helped her into the vehicle, then drove off. He stood there feeling like he should go after her. Shaking his head, he quickly took up arms with Siaak.

Myaten flashed into view not more than a yard away. “I can’t find her; you should’ve gone after Kirara with your tingling spider senses, Kiros―Kiros, your face!”

“What now? No more jokes tonight, I’m not in the mood.”

  “Your scar…”

“What about it?” Kiros sneered, readying himself for some stupid comment.

  “It’s gone.”
