boyfriend, Dave? Maybe we should find him!
But back to Stephanie’s Long Goodbye: When Stephanie thought Eric had arrived, but hadn’t, she quipped, “Never around when you need him.” That was funny — and oh-so true, too:
Meanwhile, KKL hints to UNCENSORED that she may be headed to Toronto for a Dec. 15 charity event. Best news ever!
• B&B is casting yet another role. Maybe this part will actually materialize as recent casting notices haven’t developed into any concrete hirings:
[DAVID] Leading Man. Caucasian. 22 to 28 years old. HANDSOME. Brunette. Excellent Physique. An articulate, assertive, charismatic, sexy, well educated young man from a good family. A take-charge kind of person. At least 5'10" tall. STRONG CREDITS ONLY. Contract Role.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GLOBAL/NBC — Darin Brooks’ Twitter Tease!
• Is Emmy winner Darin Brooks Salem-bound? Looks that way. The actor sent fans in to a tizzy when he tweeted, “To DAYS or not to DAYS?” Hmmm… that’s exactly how I feel when I turn on my TV at 1 P.M.!
• Peggy McKay returned Nov. 29. No word how Caroline will explain Bo not returning back home with his Mama. But who cares because Caroline’s been confronting her past and I’m loving it. Caroline apologized to Daniel for her part in Daniel and Chloe’s paternity scandal. Clearly, this is the first evidence that Lorraine Broderick is actually working on DAYS!
• Former DAYS hunk Matt Cedeno is set to play Alejandro, a rock star looking to relax after a long tour who is also Odessa’s employer on Susan Lucci’s new Lifetime soap, DEVIOUS MAIDS. Can’t wait. I hope Marc Cherry’s new project makes ABC regret not picking up Lucci’s highly touted next soap project.
• Fans are perplexed as to why Nick Fallon is seemingly homophobic. Makes sense to me. He obviously enjoyed prison showers a bit too much. Bam! In story 411, Nick offers to marry Gabi and claim Will’s baby as his own. Will considers it. What do you guys think? I’m still on the fence about this storyline so I’ll wait before pronouncing it offensive, as most of DAYS is right now save for Kristen and Brady’s burgeoning relationship. Speaking of which, Brady and Kristen have sex this week. I can’t wait to see Nadia Bjorlin mix it up with Eileen Davidson, who finally is beginning to look and act like one of daytime’s sexiest and smartest vixens!
• Are they hooking up Hope and Daniel? Kristian Alfonso, due in Toronto next week, tweeted a picture today with Shawn Christian on set at the Horton Square. I’d prefer it if DAYS paired Alfonso and Galen Gering.
• How long did it take for Greg Vaughan to make Eric Brady his own? Two seconds. Welcome back to daytime, you handsome beast! Vaughan’s even made Nicole bearable these days!
If you want to get an idea why the entire daytime community and press corps adore Mr. Greg Vaughan, other than his insanely handsome face and underrated acting chops, head here to ON AIR, ON SOAPS’ Michael Fairman’s fun interview with the actor.
Here’s my favourite quote: When asked if Father Eric will have a problem with his nephew’s homosexuality, the former GCB hunk said, “ I don’t think that has come to the forefront yet. I don’t think that is burning issue for Eric, by any means. I don’t think Eric has any negative responses. I am sure in regards to Will, Eric thinks, ‘You are family, and I love you for who you are.’ Eric is not a judgmental individual, as he has clearly stated.”
DAYS is moronic not to touch on this extremely hot topic in American politics and society. If this show can build a beautiful mentoring relationship with Eric and Will, DAYS could really create some change. But I’d like see Eric come to Will’s defense and, perhaps, Will can show Eric that he too needs to live his own truth and not hide behind the collar.
• UNCENSORED spoke with Deidre Hall last week to promote her new cosmetics line. How does she feel about Eileen Davidson’s DAYS comeback? “I’m happy,” she says. “It’s been a hoot seeing Kristen get under Marlena’s skin. I love what Eileen does with the part. It’s nice to be back on the front burner.” For more DAYS insights, “pick up” the next issue of UNCENSORED for more DAYS dish.
GENERAL HOSPITAL, CITYTV /ABC — Princess of Monaco! New Role Being Cast!
• B&B isn’t the only soap casting: GH is looking for yet another teenager to fill out its cast. Here’s the casting breakdown:
MALE: Caucasian, 14-17, blue eyes and dark hair. Soulful, complex, has an intensity beyond his years. CONTRACT ROLE.
Could this be Sonny and Carly’s MIA son, Morgan?
• Is it time to revoke Nancy Lee Grahn’s Dance Mom card? No, of course not. Congratulations are in order for the hardest workingwoman in show business, Kelly Monaco, who placed third during the DANCING WITH THE STARS all-star season finale last week!
No big whoop because the ravishing and sexy GH beauty already has a Mirror Ball Trophy so she’s still a winner. The soap star beat out some of the reality show’s most popular stars like Kirstie Alley, Apollo Ohno, and Emmett Smith. Not bad. Especially when you consider that Monaco was heavily taping several front burner storylines on GH these past three crucial months. Yes, it would have been nice to see Kelly win — as it would’ve been a nice win for the soap world; and her triumph would’ve also marked the first time two consecutive seasons a soap star took home the trophy (AMC’s J.R. Martinez won last season) — but the added publicity was what GH really needed to accent the show’s ratings ascent, furthering bolstering its critical darling status and successful timeslot switch. All in all, Monaco’s DWTS stint was perfect timing. It seems God is a fan of GH these days, too!
The morning after the DWTS finale, Monaco appeared on GMA with all three final couples and, of course, the hosts couldn’t help but pressure Kelly and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy to admit they’re dating. Kelly kept mum. Good girl.
In addition to Monaco aiding DWTS score an impressive 16 million viewers, and Vanessa Marcil bolstering HAWAII FIVE-O’s numbers by 12 percent thanks to her recent guest-star appearance, #AlexisHadSex trended worldwide this past Friday when viewers were finally treated to a Nancy Lee Grahn sex scene! Score. Yep, GH is on fire.
So much for that assertion by Brian Frons that viewers did not want to see middle-aged people having sex.
• The girl who plays Ellie… me likes her. Bradford Anderson and Kirsten Storms have been on fire this past week as Maxie and Spinelli begin new journeys without each other.
• Do you think one of the reasons that GH isn’t bringing on AMC stars — other than the Prospect Park licensing debacle — is because head writer Ron Carlivati would have to ultimately figure out who J.R. shot in the show’s finale? Carlivati would most definitely have to ask Agnes Nixon how everything turned out because whoever he brought on would most certainly discuss who died or who was injured, etc.
• Rumours continue to persist that Genie Francis will be back on GH by the soap’s 50th anniversary in April. But, according to a recent story in this week’s GLOBE MAGAZINE, it may not happen. The article suggests Tony Geary has blocked the returns of Genie Francis and Jackie Zeman because he loves working with Finola Hughes and Jane Elliot and he doesn't want to go back in time! Pick up your copy today for more dish. I doubt Cartini would allow any actor to dictate story or casting on their show because GH is an ensemble now.
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, GLOBAL/CBS — Is Y&R Recasting Chance? Two Possible New Roles Up For Grabs!
• No one was happy when Nina left town after Paul and Christine reconciled on Y&R. Does that mean Tricia Cast is out? Or will Nina return to town to squish the eternal Bug? In an e-mail to UNCENSORED, the Emmy winner shrugged about her future with the show, writing, “I have no idea what’s happening.” That doesn’t sound good, kids, so write in to Sony and CBS, STAT!
• Will another Friend of Jill get this part? Y&R is casting an interesting new leading man, sources tell UNCENSORED. Check it out!
[DYLAN MACAVOY] CONTRACT ROLE. CAUCASIAN MALE. MID 30’s. A rugged, dynamic, energetic man in his mid 30s. Comes from humble, blue-collar beginnings, was studying to be an archite
ct when his construction/contractor father was injured and Dylan had to drop out of college to take over the business. He’s done two tours of duty in the Middle East, army special ops. The war left a mark on him. He’s done his best to bury it with optimism and a wry, sometimes offbeat sense of humor. This role begins in JAN 2013.
Sounds like Chance to me, huh? Or not. I hope this is a new role.
I’d love for Trevor St. John to get this part but that’s not going to happen.
• Y&R is also looking to cast Congressman Scott Wheeler to start shooting immediately, UNCENSORED has exclusively learned. It’s a recurring role with a 3-month arc minimum. Caucasian, 50's to 60, distinguished, physically fit politician. Described as skilled and full of himself.
Hire Jerry ver Dorn, Peter Reckell, or Michael E. Knight, Y&R! And not Ronn Moss!
• Redaric Williams first airs on Dec. 14 as Leslie’s kid brother, Tyler. Glad to see that Y&R is giving Angel Conwell some family on the hit soap because she’s one of the soaps’ best actresses — regardless of colour. Moreover, a Neil and Leslie pairing would give me life, to
