Son was in Master’s bedroom. He kneeled before his bed with both hands held together. Never had I seen Son acting this way before.
“Dad, I’ve done a lot of things in my life that hurt you and mom. I’m sorry for the grief that I caused. You deserved better from your son.”
I looked on, intrigued by this show of remorse in an empty room. Who was he talking to?
“I promise that I will change my life.”

I spend most of my days looking outside the window. Waiting for Master’s return.
Son has stayed at the house every night and brings me to bed with him. I try to wake up at 5:00, but he just kicks me out of the room.
I hope that Master comes back soon. I’m afraid I may just grow old without him.
About the Book
Ozzy is a book that originated as a school project. Professor Kelcey Parker, an author in her own right, assigned her class with three major assignments for the semester. Titled “Narrative Collage”, the class was a mix of the fine arts and English. Students were responsible for creating a book of their own and self-publishing it.
Student and author Kyle W. Bell chose to draw upon life experiences to inspire his book. Ozzy was a real cat that lived with his grandparents. While the book takes some narrative liberties, much of the story is based on real events. It is meant to be a lasting tribute to his grandparents that are now deceased.
The paperback version of Ozzy is meant to be a work of art by using words, pictures and various spacing techniques to tell the story. While some of that is lost in the e-book version of Ozzy, the underlining message remains intact. Readers are encouraged to purchase a paperback version of the book when it is released in late May 2010 to enjoy the full experience.
About the Author
Kyle W. Bell is a Political Science Major at Indiana University South Bend. He calls South Bend his home, where he was born and raised. He has always been an avid writer, perhaps explaining why he owns and manages two separate websites, each of them dedicated to different subjects. At the tender age of twenty-two, Kyle likes to think that his youth gives him the freedom to write openly and refrain from being overly cynical.
Kyle's main interests include writing, reading books, keeping tabs on the news, watching sports and being with both friends and family. In 2003, he founded the video game news and review website Game Freaks 365. His interest in politics drove him to create KyleBell.com in 2007, a political blog meant to generate ideas and debate on policy, as well as current events.
He is the recipient of the Indiana Black Expo's Martin Luther King Junior Award. It was won in an essay contest in 2002 writing about the perils of racial profiling in the wake of 9/11. The following year he was awarded with the Presidential Award for excellence in education. In 2011 his writing on sports development appeared in Indiana University South Bend's Undergraduate Research Journal.
