“This rumor of rebellion is disturbing,” I said as I sat in my throne. I was the rightful person in this seat, no one else. Everyone else would be confused, and only Pote would know what I was speaking of.
“Yes, it is my lord,” Pote said, approaching the throne and glancing to Klid. I am actually starting to believe the possibility of Klid being a rebel against my kingdom. He is a Logar.
“We will find the source of these rumors, sir, but we need to focus on the battle outside the castle,” Klid nervously said. He was sweating and looking from Pote to me, then to the other soldiers.
“I trust you, Klid,” I said and looked to Pote. I focused my telekinesis on the watch that was on my wrist. It started to expand and within a few seconds, it was full body armor. I took my rod and attached it to the magnetic side.
“Sir, if I must say, I believe the corruption may be in the Royal Army,” Pote confidently told me.
“How do you guess this, Pote?” I asked him, understanding where he was going. Klid was sweating profusely now. It was obvious who could be trusted and who couldn’t.
“I’ve heard stories, my lord. Stories from the soldiers of rebelling,” Pote explained to me.
“They are lies!” Klid said nervously.
“I cannot be sure,” I said, turning around. I knew Pote was telling the truth, I could hear it in his voice. My fears of the revolution are true.
‘Act surprised in a few seconds,’ Pote told me telepathically. A few seconds later he announced “Well, I think they are true. In fact I believe Klid started these rumors!”
I turned around and gasped. “What?” I asked in fake horror and stared at Klid.
“I heard him talking to the men, convincing them to join!” Pote said, pointing his finger at Klid.
“Is it true?” I asked Klid, angrily and seeking the truth.
“I cannot tell a lie my lord. It is true,” Klid said grabbing his sword’s rod-like handle. The rod then extended into its sword form. The other eight soldiers mimicked Klid’s actions.
“You’re all with Klid?” Pote exclaimed, and extended his rod into sword form as well.
“I fear we are outnumbered,” I said, using my telekinesis to grab my rod. I then sent my consiousness through it and its blade shot out.
“You fear we may lose?” Pote asked; fear now surfacing for the first time.
“No, I fear for them!” I shouted and saw the terror wash off of Pote’s face.
I punched the air with my left hand and a ball of ice at the group of soldiers. My ice transformation was probably my most trusty, for I used it the most besides my telekinesis. I know I’m proficient in all of my transformations, but if I had to fall back on one, it would be ice.
The ball of ice hit a rebel in the chest and he instantly turned to stone. I was surprised that I had killed him with that hit. I figured I would wound him or take him out of the fight. In my mind though, it is just one less rebel to deal with.
The soldiers now charged at Pote and I. Pote clapped his hands creating a horizontal wave of telekinetic energy. Three of the soldiers created force fields while the other three where cut in half, instantly turning to stone. Klid had managed to jump over the wave, and landed gracefully on the floor. I swung my left fist twice more, releasing a ball of ice with both swings. The force fields were strong, and when my ice contacted them, nothing happened.
Pote ran forward, engaging Klid. Klid swung his sword, and Pote successfully deflected it. Pote then struck back, but it was blocked. He then snapped and lashed out at Klid in every imaginable direction and angle. “Help me you fools!” Klid shouted to the other soldiers. One of them joined the battle against Pote, while the other two challenged me.
I calculated my first attack. One soldier brought his sword at my horizontally, so I swung downward with all my might. The soldier dropped his sword and I instantly redirected my weapons path. The man’s head fell to the floor and turned to stone with the rest of his body.
I turned to look at my other foe, and he stretched out his hand. I felt something collide with my side. It was the stone sculpture of the man I just killed. I fell to the floor, and pushed the stone corpse off. The soldier approached me and readied his sword to kill me.
“I will not die today!” I shouted at him and created a small jet of water. I flung it at his head and when it impacted I turned it into ice. My foe’s head was completely surrounded by ice and he punched it, trying to break it. I quickly got to my feet and thrust my sword through his chest. He turned to stone, and I quickly removed my sword.
I looked to Pote to see how he was fairing in his fight. Pote stretched out his hand and an arch of lightning flew at Klid. Klid rolled out of the way. The other soldier swung at Pote, hitting him in the leg. Pote let out a horrifying cry of pain. I pushed my arms forward and my telekinesis sent the other man flying through the window and to his death.
I looked up just in time to see Klid send a telekinetic punch my way. I felt the impact and I fell to the ground. Klid jumped in the air with a telekinetic boost. His sword was aimed right at me. I had no time to react. This is the end.
