Valentine watched much more closely now, he knew it in every fiber of his being; this was it, when the young man opened the box and pulled out the item he had to strike before anyone else could. If he was quick enough he could pull off his own plans against his parents’ wishes. First the young man just looked at the box now in his hand in confusion and concern, then in moments the tape was torn off, and the boy hesitated before opening the flaps and reached into the box pulling out a ring, putting it on his right middle finger instinctively and purposely. Then he pulled out a purple leather bound book just barely bigger than his hand. That was the sign he was looking for, Valentine broke through the window, his father and their honor guard just a few seconds behind him. He jumped on the young man as he was just about to open the book; Valentine knocked it out of his hands quickly as he landed on him. Valentine pinned him down with his superior strength and sunk his fangs into the young man’s clavicle. Draining the blood quickly from him then looking around he saw blue and red flashes coming from the living room where the women had been knocked to, he knew he had to be quick or he would miss his chance to achieve his personal goals.

It was their most sacred law he was about to break but he did not care at; he tore into his wrist and poured his own royal blood into the young man’s mouth still open in shock and in mid scream. Suddenly without warning he was knocked aside by a large powerful hand, “You imbecile, you foolish fledgling!” Valentines father boomed at him in his deep tone, the king then tried to smash the young man’s head but it was much too late, the royal blood had already gone to work on the young man’s body changing him into something new.

The king kicked the boy over to his son who had just started picking himself off the floor with a scowl on his face “You will suffer the consequences of your mistake when we return. For now take him and go, I will see you at the hearing.” The giant of a man said before rejoining the battle in the living room.

Watching to make sure his father was gone Valentine scooped up the young man in one hand and the book from under the counter in the other hand. He put the book in his pocket and leapt out of the house and headed back to the Coven.

Ty couldn’t feel anything but cold darkness, he also had the sense of being carried very fast by strong arms. He opened his eyes just long enough to see his home ablaze in the distance before passing out again, his now purple glowing eyes shutting as quickly as they had opened.
