‘Let me play with him.’

Izalie turned to her twin. Her mood was venomous.

‘No!’ Iszalie turned her wrist and watched as the mirror closed, she sighed as her reflection looked back at her. She had yet to sleep since the banquet and was growing weary.

Iszalie could not get the Commander of Luia out of her mind. She briefly turned her attention to the man in her bed. Michael Stern had returned and had satisfied her, but only physically. She yearned for the Commander, and it was beginning to drive her mad. Frustrated, she went to the bed and pulled the covers from the sleeping man. He stirred and opened his eyes, his smile making her angry.

‘Get out.’ He played the spoilt child and refused. Iszalie turned her back on him. ‘I said get out.’

He reached for her and grabbed her shoulder; she turned and grabbed his arm, her eyes fixed on him. He began squirming at her touch. His arm suddenly started to turn an ash grey colour. Iszalie looked at the man angrily.

  ‘I said. Get out.’

The man finally acknowledging the threat in her words, leapt from the bed, grabbing his clothes and raced for the door without looking back. Iszalie sighed as the door slammed shut; she looked down at her hand that was shimmering. She had not used that much power before. She could hear her twin laughing behind the mirror.

Finally calm. Iszalie began dressing. She put on her black uniform, leaving the chain mail and walked to her dresser, placing perfume behind her ears and as she looked at her reflection she wondered who this Teanne woman was?

Selecting an arm cuff, she placed it on her upper arm and moved towards the door. She turned back and glanced at the gold mirror - looking back at her was her twin, arms crossed, with a smirk on her face, and her eyes glowed in anger.
