Strolling into the room after her shower she yawned and pulling back the coverlet she crawled under, too tired to bother with clothes. At her feet the mattress depressed as Percival jumped up and made his way up to lay on her pillow, his comforting purr in her ear serenading her to sleep.

After a slumber filled with vivid, deliciously erotic dreams all featuring Lucifer, Annabelle woke feeling restless and highly aroused. Her senses felt heightened and she imagined she could feel the electrical pulses of her nerves as they tripped up and down her skin’s surface. As she stretched the silky quilt rubbed against her and her bare flesh tingled, the fine hairs on her arms and legs rising to attention.

Opening her eyes she was surprised to see the room deep in shadows and rolling over she gazed out through the french doors watching awed as the last of the outback sunset splashed its fruit-salad colours across the heavens.

Leaning on her elbow she carefully shifted her sleeping cat and leaning over she checked her watch, gasping as she saw that she’d slept the afternoon away, it was now 6:00 pm.

“Shit, shit, shit,” she scolded herself as she clambered out. After using the bathroom she stepped back into her bedroom and froze. The lamps by the bed had been switched on and in their soft glow she saw draped across the chaise longue, a shimmering length of fabric.

Walking over to it she bent and dreamily ran her fingers across the silky material. Picking it up she checked the tag, noticing without surprise that it was in her size, and holding it against herself she slowly twirled in circles beaming with delight.

It was a work of art.

Strapless, it was made of satin, dyed the palest green. On the boned bodice delicate hearts and wings had been embroidered in fine silver thread and embellished with shimmering crystals. Slipping it on she felt her eyes well as she took little steps across the floor and into her walk-in.

Switching on the light she gazed at herself disbelievingly and swiping away her tears she ran her hands down the smooth gown. It fit her perfectly. The skirt fell in softly draping folds to her feet and swaying lightly from side to side, she sighed as it swished luxuriously with her movements.

She gazed at a reflection she almost didn’t recognise. Only now truly seeing for the first time what Lucifer must see. Her dark hair draped down over one shoulder ending in loose sensual waves at her waist. She tilted her head and the woman mimicked her, staring back with glowing violet eyes. Combing her fingers through the subtle curls, she marvelled at this sudden change in her appearance, it was if the day’s revelations had peeled back some hidden layer exposing the true person beneath.

Placing her hand on the mirror she whispered, “Who are you? Could you be the same woman who has been blindly stumbling through her life with no purpose until now?”

The reflection smiled, and closing her eyes Annabelle hugged herself.

Opening her underwear draw her fingers closed on her laciest, skimpiest panties before putting them back and closing the drawer with a smile.

“He has gone to so much trouble to surprise me, the least I can do is return the favour.
