The spider lunged forward and Notch deflected the attack with his shield. He darted to one side and struck with his sword. The spider was hit and retreated a little, as if it were sizing him up. Notch took his chances and leapt forward, hitting it again. This time it let out a small noise and crumbled up, gone for good. Notch wiped some sweat off his brow. The snow covered mountains seemed to be infested with spiders. Usually they didn’t attack in the day but Notch had lost his footing and accidently tripped on one. He had to try to be more careful but he was so tired…

It didn’t matter. He was close to the town. It was the largest in the area and ancient, having been around since the Temple of Herobrine had been. This made it an excellent bet to get more information and more clues about what had happened to Herobrine and the small cluster of villages. He could already see the tips of some of the highest buildings in the town.

Notch wished he had lived in a town this large as a kid. Instead, he lived in a small farming village near the ocean which had its fair share of fishermen as well. Notch’s dad was a fishermen and his mother liked to create clothing. She would spend her days finding wool and dying it in various colors. They had been a lot of travelers who visit due to the fact they were just off the ocean so she’d sell to them. His father would spend the days on the water, fishing and usually taking Notch with him. Notch used to like to pretend there were sea monsters in the water.

Notch found the cobblestone pathway that led up the mountain to the town and started to head up towards it.
