Dear, you will have more than one mate. We humans have a soul mate of each species; well human females do that is.” The surprised expression lingered on her beautiful face. “If this is too much for you to handle…I can ask Uncle Dustin to let you stay with him.” He smiled as his words worked on getting her back to normal really fast.
“No you don’t! You are not leaving me behind anymore.”
He sighed and smiled at her, “Then you need to learn to accept their rules as well as their ways of life. We will be living with so many different species that the rules need to be enforced at all times.” She bowed her head slightly then looked back up to him. His smile widened as he realized his daughter had finally grown into a woman of strength. “Good…you will do just fine.” He turned slightly to Zelectra as he spoke, “I think it would be best to leave now.”
Zelectra nodded slightly as he let out a deep sigh. His eyes connected with Tiffany’s once more, than slowly drifted downward to the ground. Sighing yet again before he finally stated, “It would be best for me to leave.”
Tiffany went to protest but her father stopped her by placing his hands on her shoulders and holding her steadfast to the bed. Zelectra took one last glimpse of her beautiful brown eyes before materializing away. Looking back to her father she finally asked, “Why did you make him leave?” Her words sounded more like a cry for help.
Removing his hands slowly, he slowly sat down beside her. After a few moments of watching her play with her fingers he finally replied, “The bond is strong between you two.” He eyed the picture on the wall of her mother holding her daughter tight to her chest. “If he stayed any longer the pull would have grown too strong for him to resist any more.” Looking down at her pleading eyes he added, “He would have tried to mate you.”
Her eyes widened as a small gasp escaped her lips. “Daddy, you know you can trust me.”
He chuckled softly then returned to look at her in all seriousness, “I know, it is not that I don’t trust you.” Pulling her close to his side he stated, “The pull works both ways, Dear. You both would have wanted it.” Seeing her protesting expression he gently added, “It is a soul mate bond. The pull of it becomes stronger as your birthday grows near.”
“What does my birthday have to do with it?”
“Once a female turns eighteen…that is when she is officially of mating age.”
“Really? So when I turn eighteen, I will have to mate him?”
Daniel swiftly turned her to face him, “No, you do not have to mate anyone if you do not want to. Even if they are your soul mates they cannot force you to mate them.” He pulled her into a warm embrace, “If anyone ever tries to force you…” Pushing her slightly backwards he looked deep into her eyes, “Tell me or one of your other soul mates. Do you understand?” She nodded her head and then tightened her arms around him. “Good, now that you know that…I feel more at ease with taking you.”
“Violet says we are going with you!” Dustin yelled out as he entered her room.
“Yes, you two are going with me.”
“Why? I am eighteen. I should be able to make my own choices about the matter.”
“Fine,” He stood and walked over to his son. “What would you like to do? Stay here, get a job, pay the bills, and take care of everything on your own. Or you could come with me and not have to do anything other than go to a school made for all of the species of five different worlds?”
Marcus stumbled slightly backwards, after a few silent seconds he finally asked, “Do I have to get a job and pay school fees?”
His father laughed before replying, “No, all you need to do is attend classes and obey the rules.”
“Alright, but if I start getting charged for it…I am going to leave a.s.a.p.” He turned and rushed out of the room. Within minutes he poked his head into the doorway and asked, “Violet is going to be our sister?” His father nodded his head, yes. “Great, now I have two seventeen year old sisters to drive me crazy.”
“Look boy, don’t push me…I should be tearing into you right now for what you did to your sister.”
Marcus glided a hand thru his thick brown hair, “Sorry.” As he turned he said under his breathe, “I will go and pack some clothes.”
“You don’t need to do that. Once there…you will be given stuff to wear.”
“I sure hope it’s nothing like what you’re wearing.” Marcus sarcastically remarked as he looked his father over once more.
“Ha…no you will be giving something much different. I can guarantee that.”
Marcus started to say something, but then was interrupted as a new guest materialized into the room right in front of their father. His mouth drifted wide open as the new guest turned and nodded at him. “Oh, I.... hmm…I think I am going to like this new school.” His eyes danced with desire as he took in ever little detail of the female figure. “This is going to be fun.”
Tiffany's laughter brought him back down to Earth. Looking past the new guest he asked, “What…why are you laughing so much?” She tried to talk but failed as the new guest approached her bed. Her laughter intensified as she caught her brother's eyes on the female figure once more. He was so engulfed in her beauty that his sister's laughter seemed to not bother him anymore. She collected herself little by little as the beautiful figure stopped and kneeled in front of her. Her heart stumbled over its own beats as their eyes connected.
Gently placing a hand on hers, the new guest softly said, “I am one of your Heart Guardians.”
Her eyes darted up to her father's he nodded and stated, “Remember...we talked about this earlier.”
She recalled all he said. With one long glimpse of the beautiful glowing blue eyes she melted into awareness of the bond. “Yeah…I remember,” she whispered as her mate's hand softly squeezed hers.
“This scene looks so wrong,” Marcus said as he continued to watch the new guest with his sister. “If it was someone else other than my sister…” he paused as his thoughts drifted away to a scene of his own wild fantasies. “Oh…that would be great.”
Tiffany’s laughter escaped her as she fought to hold it at bay. “You moron…you have no idea what's going on.” She smiled at her mate as he stood and looked at her brother.
“I am not as I appear to be,” his voice was so much more feminine than her other mate's. It even had more of a seductive pull as he spoke, “I am not a female.”
Marcus' jaw dropped, he slowly backed up against the wall. “No way…you’re a guy?”
Her mate smiled then replied, “Yes, I am a male.” Within seconds he was back kneeling in front of Tiffany holding her hand. “Your sister is my Heart Guardian.” Tiffany's face turned light red as her mate kissed the palm of her hand, while watching her reaction. He smiled back at her as his lips left her skin. Her palm tingled with anticipation for more. “You are one amazing young woman.” His words turned her into a giggle fest.
Her brother was still leaning against the wall as his father approached him, “They look good together don't they.”
Stunned by his father's words he turned and asked, “You’re ok with this?”
“Yes, why should I not be? Ralavo is a very powerful Savior. I think he can handle keeping her safe and happy.” Eyeing his son's expression he soon added, “Remember…you can stay here if you would like to.”
Shaking his head while watching his sister giggle at her mate he finally said, “I will go. Please tell me, not all of the females are males.”
“No…their kind…are either male or male and female. He just so happens to be male, her other mate that had to leave is both.”
“What? So there are no females that are just female at this new school?”
“Yes, but I must warn you. Most just want you for one thing and nothing more.” He felt disgust rising in his mind as he saw his son's smile grow. “There are more important things than that.”
Marcus' smile disappeared as he stated, “I know that…I am just happy there are females that are not mal
es there.” Both of their laughter stopped as another guest materialized into the room, this one appeared to be male. Marcus grinned to his father as the male approached him, “Please tell me that is a male, not a female.”
He stopped in front of them and laughed softly as he answered for Daniel, “Yes, I am male.” His head tilted slightly as he noted Tiffany and her mate softly talking. “I see, Ralavo, has found his Heart Guardian.”
Daniel smiled as Tiffany giggled with delight when her mate placed a delicate kiss to her cheek, “Yes, and they seem to be doing well.”
His eyes clouded over with deep regret as he continued to watch them.
His friend took note of his sudden change, “What is wrong Daniel? Ralavo will do no harm to your daughter…he is one of the oldest of his kind. So the pull is not as strong for him as it is with the younger ones.” He continued to watch his friend's face deepen more into depression.
“That is the problem…I had to ask Zelectra to leave.” He sighed deeply before continuing, “The bond was pulling too hard at him…even while I was here with them. He was still losing the battle.” Tiffany's new giggle drew his attention back to her. “I felt so bad having to ask him to leave like that.” Pulling his emotions together he finally turned his face to look his friend in the eyes. “Welgor, do you think it will be this way at the school?”
Welgor grinned slightly as he spoke, “Yes, she will be eighteen soon. The pull
