Read Under Suspicion - The Legend of D.B. Cooper Page 25
Bradley could hear the drone of the boat engine as he reached the eighty foot sailboat at the end of dock A. Chet stayed on the dock, behind a boat, while Bradley slowly eased his way onto the sailboat and into the shadow of its mast. As the motorboat came closer, Bradley pulled the shiny nickel plated .44 Magnum Desert Eagle from the shoulder holster under his jacket and loaded a round into the chamber.
Bradley could see the silhouette of the driver. He timed his jump. Bradley dove onto the deck tackling the driver. They both hit the deck with a loud thud, then Alan hit the stunned driver on the head with the Desert Eagle. Instantly the boat changed directions and lost power. Bradley spun around as the shadow of a man holding an Uzi emerged from the cabin. Bradley kicked his arm as the machine gun fired into the air.
Rattitattat!
Boom! Boom!
Bradley immediately fired two rounds into the man’s chest. As the shadowy figure fell backwards, Bradley saw another obscure gunman move towards him.
Boom! Boom!
Alan fired without hesitation.
The commotion on deck took the supplier-informant completely by surprise. He had been sitting in the dark cabin reviewing the plan in his head when he heard the struggle. The second guard instantly hurried to check on the first. When the thunder of shots rang out, the informant instinctively pulled out his fake gun. The last thing he saw was a shadow at the top of the stairs, a flash, and it was over.
