Going to have
Good days and bad days
And I will face
Draw backs to get
That green pasture
You are aiming for is
To have good self-esteem
About myself.”
“Tragedy”
“My open wounds
Will hurt for
Few days, and heal.
Emotional abuse
The most painful
Emotions to heal
It takes years and
Probably lifetime
Of healing.
I am like a flower
Has to be nurtured
Watered cultivated
So its cared for to
Blossom my true beauty
My flower wasn’t getting
Any love or compassion
Or empathy to heal my
Emotional wounding.”
“Rejection”
“Rejection only
Brought about anger
And hurt to my recovery
There uncaring hearts
Brought a rivalry
To my heart, my revengeful
Feelings spring up and bloomed
All I wanted was to be heard
And not unheard from the
Professionals from Pexton Hall.”
“Fear”
“Fear was dark shadow
Hovering over me
And defeated me from
Not having any happiness
In my life.
Fear took all of the good
From me gave me less
Courage to tackle any
Challenges that came up
In my everyday living
On my journey I encountered
Power greater than me and
That was god he gave me
The joy that was missing
In my life.”
“Lake”
“Roaming around
Sandy lake shore
On a calm windless day
Sunlight sparkling on the
Sky blue water, muskrats
Swimming graciously
To their castles some
Perching on their castles
Getting sun tan
On a beautiful autumn day.”
“Radio”
“Radio broadcaster
Announces the news
It’s all recorded
And played into life
Where ever you roam
If a roll play presents
Turn a different channel
The message will
Come on, leaving the old
Recording to pass.”
“Fall”
“In the fall of
1970 I went
Duck hunting you would
See such beauty, trees
Brightly, colored leaves
Mirroring onto the water
Showing off a fall portray
Ducks roaring in every
Ten minutes of steady
Shooting, high flyers
Parading over you
So graceful, heading
For their winter land
Where ever it maybe.”

My lonely destiny

Criticized and misunderstood
My intentions and they
Moralized and condemned me

To rest and not to
Dawn upon us
Courting a honeymoon.”

Dwellers taking so
Much pride in their work.”

Happier days.”

Wishing you well
Hope we meet
Again some how
With smiling faces
Hoping our friendship
Will never depart
From us.”
“Days of Misery”
“I was sick and tired
Of being sick and tired
I turned my life over to
The care of God
His power and direction
Lead me to the fellowship
Of Alcoholics Anonymous.
It took an inventory
Every day in doing so
It kept me to have good
Attitude and to be grateful
Thanking the good lord
For my sobriety and all his
Blessing and for another
Dawn to serve him.
In doing so it sprung a new
Person in Alcoholics Anonymous
Then I, gained a balance
Of play and fun and
Times to be serious.”
“Sobriety”
“Earning your sobriety
You are going to run
Into people you don’t
Care for.
You still have to treat
Them with kindness, love
Thy neighbor as thyself
And respect will come
Your way even in Alcoholics
Anonymous we pick and choose
To be our friends and still
Be humble to those you really
Don’t care for.
I believe in time your
Hostility will make
Friends you don’t car
e about.”
“Farewell”

Goodbye for now
Hope we will run
Into each other again
That our ware bouts
Have some meaning
As before, hoping smiles
Bring us closer together.”
“Pain”
“For many years

Me a success in
One lifetime.”

How it was like back then.”

From the clutches of
Pain that held me very

Friends being free
What a wonderful feeling
To cherish in your heart.”

Hit me with
The willows I screamed
In dismay from the pain
The willows cut
My skin, I would
Hide in the woods
In some brush
From the abuser.”
“Abuser”
“One time, while
I was in bed the
Slayers footsteps
Coming up, the stairs
Gave me the chills,
He came into my room put his hands
Around my throat chocking
Me I am struggling, grasping
For air I, was paralyzed
With fear. It was molestation
Of my mind all that abuse
I endured as a child of
Eight years old.”
“Flower”
“My flower in life
Was not watered
Or cared for to
Blossom compassion
And trust were
Not shown
My eternal pain only
Brought the dark side
Of me, I was good
Person a lot of bad
To me, I got stuck
Into the mental
Health system
Found out through
The psychological
Testing I wasn’t
Mentally ill what
Is the prejudicial view
On me, why don’t
They let me go
On with my life for
New beginning
With the fellowship
Of alcoholics anonymous.”
“Cross”
“I carried heavy cross
To Calvary hill, the
Abuser never had
Any compassion nor did
He apply any compassion
To me.
My cross in life got
Even heavier and
I fell down the second time
The abuser never game me
His warmth, love, affection
To me.
My cross got so heavy
I fell down the third
Time and I was whipped
And kicked I underwent
A lot of punishment and
Punishment is all I ever
New as a child.
I was in constant fear
Of being punished without
Cause, the abuser, hanged me
On the cross and crippled me
Emotionally for a life time.”

Around the, vast frontier.”
“Stranger”

This time around.”

Looks unfair
Looking through a hospital

Don’t ring around the rosy
And fall down hurting
Yourself again.”

Will hurt for
Few days, and heal.

It takes years and

Watered, cultivated
So it’s, cared for to
Blossom my true beauty,
My flower wasn’t

Wonder lusting around
The countryside’s
Without a compassionate
Heart I would not
Give my heart to nobody
It was blackened from my
Self-hatred that almost
Destroyed me, I ran into a
Person with a compassionate
Heart and he gave me the love
I needed so desperately in my life.”
“Past”
“I was a neurotic
Type of person
I would dwell
On the negative
Aspects in my life.
Now the pain is

At a time and
Center my thinking
On my positive aspects
I can do, from myself.”

Water fowl heading for
Land where ever that
